In order to solve the problems with conjure animals and its ilk we need to understand why this spell creates problems at the table.

Im working on some homebrew spellcasters and I want them to have Conjure Animals on their spell list. There are no beasts in the PHB of CR 2. One beast of challenge rating 2 or lower.
If you prefer some variety in your games feel free to use the random tables. However if you prefer to choose your animals try to choose the simple creatures. Meaning at level 5 you get.
